Wednesday socials are back, with nine weekly events kicking off from Wednesday, July 6.

“Everyone’s excited, and we’ve had a lot of interest,” said Louise Ferguson of the Fernie Arts Station.

“There’s lots of stuff happening – lots of food trucks happening, lots of volunteers, the Mountain Market is going to be joining us (and) we’ve got an extended beer garden this year so we’ve double capacity.”

June 6 will see Edmonton-based band, El Niven and The Alibi on stage from 6:30pm.

Besides catch up with all your pals, there’ll be a lot of food on offer so you can skip cooking dinner too, with seven different food trucks signed up to keep everyone happy.

2022 will mark the first full season back since the pandemic started, with 2021’s season cut short.

“We’re looking forward to having everyone back again for a full season,” said Ferguson. “Everyone’s coming out in full force, and there’ll be lots going on.”

Wednesday Socials run from 5:30 to 9pm, every Wednesday from July 6 to August 31 in Station Square in Fernie. The final Wednesday Social will feature lots of new art, including the final reveal of the ‘Out of the Box dumpster’ art (making it a dumpster social?) as well as the completed Station Square mural, set to be painted through August.
