April 26, 1935 - September 22, 2023
In Loving Memory ~
Antonia (Toni) Servatius passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023 at the Rocky Mountain Village in Fernie BC. Toni was born in Fernie on April 26, 1935 to parents Anton and Agnes Kraus.
Toni was predeceased by her beloved husband and soulmate Ron of 46 wonderful years and cherished son Darren, as well as her two brothers Joseph and Charles, and two sisters Agnes and Mary.
Toni is survived by her daughter Christine (Dan), sons Dale (Niki) and Ron; her grandchildren Melissa (Simon), Michelle (Daigen), Brianne, Cameron, Afton, Kiera, Brynn, Rachelle and Shelyse; her great grandchildren Hunter, Emma, Jackson, Isla and Emily, as well as her special family Cam, Vanessa, Kyla and Kourtney.
Toni lived her childhood years in Middletown (Michel Natal) before moving to Fernie. Toni graduated from Fernie Secondary School with Honors and later she met her soulmate Ron. They were married in 1957 and spent many happy years at the cabin at Edwards Lake, fishing, berry picking and enjoying every moment together. The cabin was a special place for many people, where there was always an open door for family and friends.
Toni began her career as a legal secretary with Hislop and McKay law office before later working for George Majic and Gord Leffler until she retired.
Toni loved music and was a talented musician. She played accordion and violin and was a member of a local band playing at weddings and events. Traveling with the trailer was Toni and Ron's passion in retirement. Their yearly trips to the Yukon and camping were highlights of Toni's later life.
Toni and Ron were dedicated and proud supporters of their children's lives and passions, supporting them at every event from soccer, basketball, skiing and hockey. They would often travel throughout Canada and to the east coast of the US (Johnstown and Nashville) to cheer on Darren and Ron's hockey games and could always be spotted at the finish line of Christine's ski races or on the sidelines of Dale's basketball and soccer games.
Toni will be sadly missed by all.
The family would like to thank Dr Loewen, staff, caregivers and friends at the Rocky Mountain Village.
