Glenn (Whipper) Munro Willett, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 27th, 2017 at the Rocky Mt Village in Fernie, BC.

Whipper leaves his wife, Marilyn, of 55 years; his son, Vaughn (Bonnie); his daughter, Dianna (Deane); and his grandchildren: Brianna (Curtis), Jared and Kate.

Whipper was born in Maidstone, SK in 1933 and lived in Peyton, SK on the family farm with his parents, Leon and Sarah and his older siblings:  Donald, Mary, Gweneth and George.  Whipper married his sweetheart Marilyn in Pincher Creek, AB on January 27th, 1962. Whipper and Marilyn had their son, Vaughn, in 1963 and their daughter, Dianna, in 1965.

Whipper started out his career operating heavy machinery for road and dam construction.  Whipper and his family moved to Sparwood in the late '60's.  In 1972, when wishing to settle down from the busy construction life, an opportunity opened at Finning Tractor as a Specialist. A few years later, Whipper completed his heavy-duty mechanic apprenticeship.  Whipper always spoke very highly of his friendships with his "Finning Family" and his colleagues at Harmer, Fording and Byron Creek that he worked alongside.  Whipper retired from Finning in 1999 finishing a 27-year career.

Whipper was a member of Sparwood's Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Department.  As well, he was the long-time manager of The Rusty Blades Old Timer's hockey team.  Whipper made many lasting friendships and enjoyed many goods times with his comrades.

Whipper and Marilyn enjoyed their retirement camping at Rock Lake, making new friends and watching their family grow.  Whipper will always be remembered as a quiet, kind man.  He was a wonderful, supportive husband and a caring dad and grandpa.  We will always love you and forever carry you in our hearts.
