September 28, 1934 - December 11, 2021
On Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the age of 87, Mrs. Isabel Teslak of Fernie entered into eternal rest at the Elk Valley Hospital with her family at her side.
Isabel leaves to mourn her passing, her children: Mike (Susan) Teslak, Charlie Teslak, Brent Teslak, Kathy (Les) Elford, John (Dianne) Teslak, and Anne Teslak (Brian). Also mourning their loss are Isabel's grandchildren: Michael-Lee (Alisha), Aaron (Danielle), Leanne (Rick), Amanda (Taylor), Scott (Jaclyn), Ryan (Isabella), and Rachel; great-grandchildren Bodie, Olivia and Hadley; her sister Jean Beazley and sisters-in-law Ruby Hebert and Rosie Kowch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Andrew Teslak, parents Charles & Edith Air, and her brother, Cyril Air.
Isabel was born in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan on September 28, 1934. On November 9, 1956, she married Andrew Teslak. She and her husband farmed in Saskatchewan until 1970 when Andrew found employment at Kaiser Resources and they moved the family to Fernie, BC. Once Isabel settled in her new community, she made the decision to become a business owner and operated Alpine Dry Cleaners for many years. She was a past member of the Lady Lions, TOPS, the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and was an active volunteer at the Senior Citizen's Drop-In Centre. She enjoyed numerous activities such as ladies' darts, the bowling league, gardening, camping, playing cards and most importantly, spending time with her family. Isabel will be remembered as an avid seamstress and her quilting projects have been appreciated by many over the years. She will be missed dearly.
