It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John “Ian” Robertson on August 19, 2013 at the age of 70 years.
Ian was a family man; he adored his daughters and had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He was a welder by trade and was a long time and well respected employee of Transwest/SMS. In his spare time, when not with his wife and family, he loved to golf.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol, daughters; Lindsay Halvorsen (Derrick) and Jamie Robertson (Brett Paton), as well as grandchildren; Olivia, Alyssia and Sofia Halvorsen and Riley and Cash Paton. Also left to mourn his passing, are his brother Ned Robertson and sister Wilma Lambden (Gary). He will be dearly missed by his friends and family but the memories of the good times in the past will live on.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 35 Caribou Drive in Elkford. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Ian’s name to: SPCA, PO Box 2, Cranbrook BC, V1C 4H6. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
