It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Kari Lynn Rotvold (nee Gorrie). Kari passed away at her home on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the age of 41 years. A devoted mother to her beloved son Brader, Kari confronted her many health problems with a quiet, independent, and fierce determination; never wanting to burden others. Kari inspired family and friends with her courage; teaching others to appreciate life and those they love. Kari will be dearly missed by her son Brader, her special friend Ernie Schmidt, her father George Gorrie, her mother Carol Gorrie (Bob Hilkewich), sisters Jody (Dave Dobie) and Shelley Neidig, and her grandparents Evelyn and Gordon Peters as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by grandfathers Louis Bax and Harry Gorrie, her grandmother Janet Gorrie, and uncles Colin, John, Henry, and Charles Gorrie. The Memorial Service celebrating Kari’s life was held at Cherished Memories “Serenity Chapel” on Friday, March 18th with Jane Clarke officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Hearing Foundation of Canada. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
