Michael Frederick Pang died peacefully after many years battling Alzheimer's on October 26, 2021, in Fernie, BC. He was born on January 28, 1939, in Montreal. PQ.
Mike is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Doucet); his children, Carol, Myles (Olga), and Michael (Carolin); grandchildren, Katie, Nicholas, Carmen, Maritza, Yolanda, Heather, and Harrison; great grandchildren, Bella, and Hunter; and siblings Gerry, Doug, Ron (Marg), Patricia (Mike), Sandy (Larry) and Steve. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Mike and Betty married in Chibougamau, PQ in 1959. Mike home studied alone for many years to achieve two professional accounting designations, was an accomplished Toastmaster and even wrote novels. His career took him across 6 provinces and as far as Africa and the Yukon. He was an avid hunter and firearms enthusiast and loved riding his horse, Billy. In retirement, Mike enjoyed playing games, including poker, with his grandchildren.
A family Celebration of Life will be held at some time in the future when circumstances are more conducive for travel.
The Pang family would like to thank Dr. Kimberley Barden and staff at the Rocky Mountain Village for the wonderful care given to Mike. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC.
