DAVIS:

N. Frayne Davis (December 21, 1938 – December 16, 2009)

Frayne passed away suddenly in Fernie, B.C. 5 days before his 71st Birthday. Frayne was pre-deceased last year by his beloved wife, Sheila, and his twin brother, Wayne in 2007. He is survived by his children Leanne, of Ottawa, ON and Patrick (Nioka) of Nelson, B.C. Left to grieve his absence are his sister in-law, Beverly Inglis (pre-deceased by brother in-law Bruce Inglis), and his niece and nephew Teri (Todd), Erik and Ryhlie, of Fernie and Chris ‘Ingy’ (Jennifer) of Cranbrook. Gerry Rocca (Mario) and extended family will miss his walk by visits and quick-fix jobs. Frayne was born in Cranbrook, B.C. and raised in Elko. He cherished his ‘South Country’ roots. He knew every corner and tree on his drive through the ‘rock cuts’. His family and cousins (Shades and Brown’s) will miss his stories of Elko glory days. Dad worked hard and was very proud of his careers. He worked with Crestbrook Forest Industries (Elko), Sowchuck Trucking (Sparwood) and finally, the City of Fernie where he worked for over 20 years before his retirement in 2003. His itinerant driving trips with Dicken Bus Lines were never forgotten. Dad was a ‘man about town’ and was often hard to reach on the phone since Mom’s passing, because he was out enjoying coffee with the guys or at the hockey game working door security. Mass of the Resurrection will held at Holy Family Catholic Church, on Monday, December 21st at 11:00 with interment in St. Margaret’s Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Fernie Ghostriders c/o P.O. 178 Fernie, B.C. V0B 1M0 . We will miss Dad’s endless energy for story telling, his laughter after telling a joke and especially his enthusiasm for life.
