On Thursday, August 2, 2018, a beloved resident and friend of the Tom Uphill Manor, Ronald David Palmer, passed away at the Elk Valley Hospital at the age of 82 years.
Ron was born on November 17, 1935 in L'Orignal, ON. At the age of 15 he left Ontario, train hopping his way across Canada, working various jobs until it was time to move on. In 1978 he migrated to Fernie where a chance meeting with Wally Dixon began his career as a bucker in the logging industry. In 1990, at the age of 55, Ron retired and began enjoying the new chapter in his life.
Ron is survived by special friends Gary and Susan Dixon and his many friends at the Tom Uphill Manor.
