Victor Arthur Caldwell
Victor Arthur Caldwell passed away peacefully with the tender loving care of his family at his residence in Fernie, BC on March 28, 2010.
The funeral service was held in the Serenity Chapel, Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd, on Wednesday, March 31st with Reverend Jane Clarke officiating.
Cremation with interment followed in St. Margaret’s Cemetery, Fernie.
Victor was a lifetime resident of the Valley, born in Galloway on July 3, 1937, he worked in the coal mine for many years. He is well remembered for his fishing, hunting and most important, his time spent in the Fernie Hotel, his unofficial office and second home.
Predeceased by an infant son, Bailey Henry in 1962, father Victor in 1966, mother Bertha in 1980, and most recently his sister in law, Andrea Caldwell on February 18th, 2010.
Victor leaves his wife, Phyllis, 5 children, Don (Katrina) of Fernie, Harold (Idel) of Victoria, Gerald (Donna) of Fernie, Susan (Fred) Kramer of Calgary, Neil (Shelley) of Rooseville; 5 grandchildren, Jacob, Loralynn, Meagan, Chantal and Ryan; and four brothers; Fred of Fernie, James of Hosmer, Leslie of Westbank, Don of Hosmer and their families.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd., Fernie.
