WINEGARDEN:
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Victor Steven Winegarden, aka “Joe Dirt”, who died on October 3, 2011, just hours after celebrating his 20th birthday.
Victor was born in Sparwood on October 2, 1991, the first of two sons born to Betty and Michael Winegarden. He attended Sparwood Secondary School where friends gave him the infamous nickname “Joe Dirt”. Victor enjoyed fly fishing, BMX biking, and hanging out with his many friends. His favorite pastime was to put on his earphones and go for long walks while listening to his favorite music. He will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Victor is survived by his mother Betty, his father Michael, younger brother Evan and his girlfriend Amber Funk. Also left to mourn his passing are many aunts and uncles: Jane (Henri) Gauthier, Mary (Mike) Gray, Lorrie Baitley, Kathy (Larry) Bowman, Vikki (Dennis) Columbus, Harry (Tracy) Winegarden, Bill (Deb) Winegarden, Doug Winegarden, and Roy (Norma) Winegarden as well as numerous cousins, second cousins and good friends. He was predeceased by grandparents William and Audrey Winegarden and Clifford and Mamie Hrdlicka and his uncle, Paul Winegarden.
The Memorial Service was held at Cherished Memories “Serenity Chapel” on Saturday, October 8th. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
