Fernie Alpine Ski Team wraps up

Fernie Alpine Ski Team (FAST) has finished another great season with some great performances from the young athletes.

Fernie Alpine Ski Team (FAST) has finished another great season with some great performances from the young athletes.

“It’s been a season with lots of snow, some great racing and hopefully some new friendships,” said Annica Collombin, from Friends of FAST.

“The weather conditions at the club championship sure put everyone to the test, but thanks to our dedicated parents and coaches, everyone managed to get at least one run in.”

The season ended with a blow out banquet where both coaches and kids were recognized for their efforts throughout the year.

The club gave out 26 Friends of Fast overall winners awards and handed out big trophy awards for the year.

Some stand-out performances over the season included K2 athlete Mia Henry, who was a member on the winning Team Canada at Whistler Cup, Stephanie Gartner who ranked number one at the K2 Provincials, Simon Bernard who ranked number one at the K1 Westerns and Sarah Freeman who won the Miele B.C. Cup.
