Fernie ski racer off to Junior World Championships

A Fernie ski racer is heading to Sweden as part of the Canadian team at the Ski Cross Junior World Championships.

Kaleb Barnum, 19, has had a good 2023-24 season on the NorAm Cup FIS circuit with wins at Steamboat, CO, Big White and Sunridge, AB. With these results Barnum has been selected to be part of the three man junior team.

Bernum departed for Fjall, Sweden on Friday, April 5 for training. The two-day championship will be held April 14 and 15.

Barnum competed with the Fernie Alpine Ski Team at past B.C Winter Games and Provincial Championships, winning gold.
