The day after terrorists and nazis stormed the US capitol, I received a free copy of the Epoch Times in my mailbox - we all did. Seeing that glaring example of hyper-partisan, private interest, click-bait journalism masquerading as news delivered by Canada Post was starkly ironic given the smug declarations by Canadians on social media: “how crazy is the US?!”. The fact is, day in day out we receive the exact same programming as Americans – in our mailboxes and on our social media feeds.
